Abbott is one of the world’s largest companies with breakthrough products – in diagnostics, medical devices, nutrition and branded generic pharmaceuticals, with employees across dozens of countries. However being an enterprise company has its challenges when it comes to being able to update our Ui's when provided a budget to do so.

For this project, the goal was to create an over all

enhanced design to allow our National Account clients and Customer Care clients to better manage Donor results as well as better maintain their record

information such as billing.

Research

On a team of three I was hands-on through the entire research and discovery phase, working to develop and define a research plan and conduct interviews. A few of the methods I used in the Research Phase included:

• Heuristic evaluation of current site and flow

• 20+ Users interviewed, observed, in focus groups, providing a wide range of Insights

• Mapping of existing Information Architecture

Creating The User Flow

Phasing out the Design

Define

After initial research was done the key problem areas that I wanted to address were:

1. Create advance filter options for the end user to properly sort through and locate information combining "Find Results" into the one page.

2. The ability to identify new donor results.

3. The ability to make multi selection and rearrange content.

4. Combine Event Level View and Service View into more of a toggle instead of two separate pages.

5. Provide an option menu to print, download and archive results.

Ideate

Based on initial mockups I presented the new designs to some clients and implemented their feedback:

1. Add more personality and character into the UI

2. Create more visual hierarchy

Before & After

Completed UI

1. In order to implement the feedback given I created a different layout of the information into “cards” to give me character to the design as well as help the eye organize the content verses having all text.

2. Create more visual hierarchy

Prototype

The goal for the prototype was to get real feedback from our clients you use our platform regularly, our "Power Users" as we call them.

Merging Our "Find Results" page into the main UI as a filter instead of having to navigate outside the current flow to look up information was one of the biggest compliments given when presenting the new design. As well as the new "Card View" allowed a creative way for the users to interpret information instead of reading line items in a chart.

Outcome

As charts and tables are a huge part of the companies platform we are hoping this design can be duplicated across all of our platforms when and where it is appropriate. In order to give our platforms a more cohesive feel.
